São Paulo, June 6, 2014 – Next Saturday and Sunday, June 7-8, the Homestead Miami Speedway in Florida will host the fifth round of Sunset 300, a race of the United States Championship of Endurance, promoted by FARA (Formula & Automobile Racing Association). The largest Brazilian team in the race will be Ginetta USA, with 17 race drivers led by Alline Cipriani and Adolpho Rossi.
In Brazil, Alline is the only female representative in Sprint Race’s grid and current deputy leader of the GP category. Regarding to the North American championship, Alline Rossi and her husband are already competing for Ginetta official team in the United States. The duo divides the Ginetta G40 car (MP4-class), and it is worth highlighting that the Ginetta is a globally-recognized British brand for its Endurance championship wins.
“Me and my husband are very confident in the team’s performance during the race this weekend. Since we started with the representation of the Ginetta brand in the United States, the car has been proving to be a champion every race”, says the pilot and team boss Alline, who was also Brazilian Endurance Champion last year and current deputy leader in the MP4 category.
Despite being different, all team cars were developed for long distance races. Brazilians began with just one car in 2013. In less than two years, the team has worked hard to grow and has gotten many podiums, collecting victories in the championship.
For team boss Adolpho Rossi, the expectation is to get good results at the weekend. “We are delighted to count on 17 Brazilian drivers in the team and with seven Ginetta cars on the track. There will be three car models: three G50, two G55 and also two G40. Hope to make an excellent race due to the strength of our car and the level of the pilots too”, emphasizes Rossi, the FARA defending champion, who also going to split a car with Elias Azevedo driver in MP2 category.
Brazilian team will compete in the Sunset 300 with these three car models and some of them will be divided between two or three riders. Brazilians who are vying for 300 Sunset are:
– Alline Cipriani and Adolpho Rossi are splitting a Ginetta G40;
– Adolpho Rossi and Elias Azevedo are piloting a G50 Cup;
– João Gonçalves divides the G50 command with Luiz Arruda and Eduardo Furlanetto;
– Sergio Laganá will pilot the G55 alongside Alan Hellmeister;
– Rodolfo Toni, Rodrigo Mello and Tom Filho will be in the Ginetta G50;
– Mayara Bianchi, Carlos Batista and Roberto Mello are piloting the G40;
– Adalberto Baptista, Guilherme Figuerôa and Carlos Ambrósio will command the Ginetta G55.
The race – This step will probably take around four hours, and according to Alline, specific corners of NASCAR will be used at this stage. “They will adopt the Nascar configuration, using the corners 3 and 4, which means nothing more than an oval part of the track”, explains.
So far there are about 90 cars registered. The night race will be webcast live on Saturday, 7 June, at 6pm local time and 7pm Brazilian local time at http://www.farausa.com, where also more information about the North American Endurance Championship can be found.
